We’ve all been waiting anxiously for some “official” details on the iPhone 3G and finally that time has come! Yesterday Apple finally unwrapped some long awaited details: a full plastic back, thinner edges, and also the iPhone 2.0 firmware.

The most notable features of course are the 3G network addition and the satellite GPS addition. The 3G network is supposed to blow Edge speeds away by far. In addition to these two great features comes the 3rd party applications. Don’t worry original iPhone users, the 2.0 firmware upgrade is going to be a free release for you guys!

If you are one of the unlucky people who just bought your iPhone on or after May 27th, don’t worry, you will be able to get an iPhone 3G without having to buy an additional handset.

“Customers who purchased a 2.5G iPhone on or after May 27 and want to swap it out for a new iPhone will be able to do so without incurring an additional handset charge for the new device. They will of course need to turn in their 2.5G iPhone.”

For even more information regarding the release of the iPhone 3G, head on over to Engadget!

The PowerDock 2, by Griffin Technology, can charge 2 iPods/iPhones at the same time! Or if you are really daring, you can charge one of each at the same time! That’s right…1 iPhone + 1 iPod! Not bad for a $49.95 gadget huh, I can’t wait to get my hands on one!
